Because of the recent review, I immediately ordered a copy (through the
web site) with the thought that this book might provide new material
for the on-line course I'm working on. I received it this afternoon
and have read the first two chapters. I must say I've gained a much
greater appreciation of just how dire Twain's financial situation was.
This was a much greater fall than his early experience with poverty in
San Francisco.
