In order to perform necessary server hardware maintenance, there
will be a few brief interruptions in York's DNS services between
7:30am and 8:30am on Monday February 9.
The DNS servers are used by internet applications to convert host
names to network IP addresses.
People who have correctly configured their computers with the IP
addresses of three York DNS servers will likely experience small
delays on all internet connections during the server outage. Users
who have configured their computers with only one DNS server will
likely suffer a complete outage on all network connections.
Information about York's DNS service including the IP addresses of
the DNS servers is available on the web at
http://www.yorku.ca/netops/dns.html
