Ressources sur l'impact du tabagisme et de la fumée secondaire
« Un environnement sans fumée pour votre enfant. Comment y parvenir? »
 
Le Centre de ressources Meilleur départ a développé un programme d'éducation en français sur l'impact social de la fumée secondaire auprès des jeunes familles. Ce programme discute des défis posés par la fumée secondaire et propose des stratégies pour protéger les enfants et les femmes enceintes de la fumée secondaire. Il peut être utilisé lors de rencontres prénatales, postnatales ou avec d'autres groupes de personnes en contact avec de jeunes enfants (i.e. grands-parents).
 
Toutes les ressources peuvent être téléchargées et/ou commandées à : www.meilleurdepart.org/resources/tabagisme/index.html, dont : 
*         Un DVD de 22 minutes. Un manuel de l'animateur est inclus avec le DVD.
*         Un feuillet contenant des renseignements sur la fumée secondaire et tertiaire pouvant être distribué aux participants lors du visionnement de la vidéo.
*         Une évaluation pour les participants.
*         Une affiche bilingue sur le tabagisme et la grossesse.
*         Un présentoir que vous pouvez emprunter du Centre de ressources Meilleur départ sur le tabagisme et la grossesse.
 
Une distribution limitée du DVD a été effectuée auprès des Centres de la petite enfance francophones, des projets PACE et CPNP, et de quelques autres organismes. Trois formations en personne ont été effectuées et une autre formation à distance est prévue pour le 13 mai. La production d'une vidéo en anglais est présentement en cours et celle-ci sera disponible à l'automne. Ce programme a été financé par Santé Canada.
 
 
Resources on the impact of tobacco and second-hand smoke
« Un environnement sans fumée pour votre enfant. Comment y parvenir? »
 
The Best Start Resource Centre has developed an educational program in French on the social impact of second-hand smoke on young families. This program discusses challenges posed by second-hand smoke and proposes strategies to protect children and pregnant women from second-hand smoke. It can be used with prenatal and postnatal groups, as well as with other groups of people in contact with young children (i.e. grand-parents).  
 
All the resources can be downloaded and/or ordered from: www.meilleurdepart.org/resources/tabagisme/index.html <http://www.meilleurdepart.org/resources/tabagisme/index.html> . These include:
*         A 22 minute DVD. A facilitator guide is included with the DVD.
*         A handout containing information on second-hand and third-hand smoke, which can be distributed to the participants when the video is shown.
*         An evaluation for the participants.
*         A bilingual poster on tobacco and pregnancy.
*         A display which can be borrowed from the Best Start Resource Centre on tobacco and pregnancy.
 
A limited distribution of the DVD has been done through the francophone Ontario Early Years Centres, the CAPC-CPNP projects and a few additional organizations. Three in-person training sessions have been done and a webinar is planned for May 13th. The production of the English video has been started and the final product should be available in the fall. This program has been financed by Health Canada.
