PS: my Luria quote below should be of more than passing interest to historians and philosophers of science. In many years no one has ever asked about it. Given our current American president, who is blessed with extraordinary knowledge in the absence of any interest in justified true belief, it should be all the more relevant.

Perhaps Goldberg should have listened to Luria … and … 

One might be reasonably tempted to think that perhaps Luria was saying something
more fundamental to Goldberg than just that one could work in greater peace if one joined the Party …
