The Alliance for Malaria Prevention (AMP) has recognized the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT in Nigeria and its partners with an award for their work initiating and implementing the Direct Delivery and Information Capture (DDIC) model. The DDIC is an innovative system for the last mile distribution of health commodities that provides real time access to logistics data for evidence-based decisionmaking.
Benefits of the DDIC in Nigeria include--
--significantly improved availability of health commodities at health facilities
--near instant access to logistics data for decisionmaking
--increased visibility into the health commodity supply chain
--evidence supporting the feasibility of integrating distribution for health commodities from different programs (malaria, family planning, maternal and child health)
--health facility service providers better able to focus on clinical duties thanks to informed push distribution system.
