I forgot to mention that James Webb’s BORN FIGHTING provides a pretty good historical context for suth’run white culture, and I’ve been told ALL OVER BUT THE SHOUTIN (Bragg) is a good pairing with the J D Vance book. I’ve read the former, but not the latter.
