Subject: Reviewing the Guidelines for the EatSmart! Program
Greetings!
The Nutrition Resource Centre at the Ontario Public Health Association is
currently reviewing the nutrition standards for Eat Smart! - Ontario's
Healthy Restaurant Program.
We are seeking the public’s opinion on a number of issues related to healthy
eating and have developed a survey to collect this data.
We are looking for ways to disseminate hard copies of the survey and to
direct traffic to the online version of the survey.
Our primary target audience is Ontario parents of children under 14, who eat
out at least once a week. The secondary audience is other adults without
children.
If you (or your organization) might have an opportunity to:
-- disseminate hard copies of the survey,
-- advertise the link to the online copy of the survey, or
-- link to the online survey from your web site,
or if you have any questions about this process,
Please let us know as soon as possible!

People in Ontario who complete the survey will have the opportunity to enter
a draw to win a $50 coupon to a participating Ontario EatSmart! Restaurant.

Eat Smart! is Ontario’s Healthy Restaurant Program. It is an Award of
Excellence program for restaurants that meet high standards in healthy food
choices, food safety, and non-smoking seating. An Eat Smart! restaurant
gives consumers the choices and the environment to make healthier lifestyle
decisions when they eat out.
This program is managed provincially by the Nutrition Resource Centre at the
Ontario Public Health Association with funding from the Ontario Ministry of
Health and Long Term Care. Eat Smart! also has two provincial partners, the
Canadian Cancer Society (Ontario Division) and the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Ontario.
