Research Assistant, Women’s Health
September 2000 - March 2001, $15/hour, full-time

Do you want to take a year off before you go to graduate or medical school?
We are seeking an articulate, dedicated Research Assistant to gather, organise,
and analyse data for women’s health research projects.

Responsibilities include:
Locating, downloading, or ordering documents, reports, and publications
Organising, coding, and analysing data
Contacting research participants, assisting with interviews and focus groups
Writing reports and generally promoting research results

Qualifications include:
Knowledge of social determinants and biomedical women’s health research
Experience with advanced on-line searching techniques and library resources
Advanced abilities with Microsoft Office, the Internet, and databases
Excellent writing and analytical abilities
Strong communications and public relations skills

This position is subject to funding requirements of the First Job in Science &
Technology Program from the Information, Science, and Technology Agency
of the Province of BC. In order to be considered for this position, you must
meet the following requirements:
you must be a recent science graduate from a BC college or university
you must be a resident of BC and legally entitled to work in Canada
you have not yet had a full-time job in your field
