Apologies for cross postings.

The Health Promotion Clearinghouse (HPC) is a provincial nonprofit resource system aimed at building capacity and support for health promotion work across Nova Scotia. Over the course of the summer of 2007, all 15 of the HPC's existing resource lists were updated. Three new lists were also created to cover the topics of: Injury Prevention, Mental Health Promotion, and Workplace Health Promotion. All lists can be downloaded at: http://www.hpclearinghouse.ca/resources/lists.asp

Our resource lists include key national, provincial and local resources (e.g. documents, organizational links, funding opportunities, databases and other tools). Topics include: (1) Advocacy and Policy Development; (2); Board Development (3) Building Community Capacity; (4) Evaluation Methods; (5) Facilitation Techniques; (6) Health and Environment; (7) Injury Prevention; (8) Mental Health Promotion; (9) Nutrition and Healthy Eating; (10) Partnership Building; (11) Physical Activity and Active Living; (12) Population Health; (13) Proposal and Grant Writing; (14) Social Marketing;(15) Tobacco Control; (16) Using Research Information for Community Health Promotion; (17) Volunteer Development; and (18) Workplace Health Promotion.

In addition to the above lists, HPC has compiled a listing of health promotion documents developed in Nova Scotia. While some of the topics overlap with those of the resource lists, a few topics are unique to this set. These can be downloaded at:

http://www.hpclearinghouse.ca/resources/documents.asp

These lists are considered "works in progress" and will be updated monthly. The HPC welcomes any suggestions for additions or modifications. If you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact HPC.

Best wishes,

Caroline
