Hi

Throughout the world there has been a steady increase in skin cancers and
melanomas over the last few years. I believe this is to do with changing
behaviours, such as people in Australia have tended to move towards more outside
activity and to wearing less cloths, therefore they become more at risk for UVR
damage.

With the depletion of the ozone layer many scientists are saying this will
increase the incidence of skin cancers and melanomas considerable in the next 20
- 50 years. However if the reason that skin cancer incidence has risen in the
past is to do with behaviour doesn't this mean that through health promotion we
can decease the incidence of skin cancers in the future instead of increasing
them?

Kirsty
