*** CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT ***

The 14th Annual Conference of the Australian Health Promotion Association
will be held in Sydney, Australia, 16 - 19 June 2002.

The Conference will have the central theme of "Made in the Future", and will
focus on innovation within the key areas of leadership, capacity building,
evidence and advocacy.

Made in the Future is all about strategic planning and forward thinking:
this requires innovative and principled leadership. There is a need to build
the capacity of both professionals and communities to play key roles in
facilitating better health outcomes. There is a growing movement to explore
the concepts of evidence that underpin our practice. In recognition of the
plethora of determinants of health we also have a role to play in advocating
for broad social change.

Delegates from all facets of health promotion - practitioners, researchers,
policy makers and other related groups and individuals are invited to submit
abstracts for review and to register for this conference. There will be an
exciting range of forums where cutting edge research, practice and policy
will be showcased: proffered papers and posters, keynote plenaries with
leading national and international speakers, Think Tanks, State of the Art
sessions, Policy Updates, Formal Networking sessions and Symposiums. There
are also several pre and post conference satellite workshops - please see
our registration brochure for further details.

To request a registration brochure and the call for abstracts, please email
