      SALARY RANGE:   $50,000-$60,000 (dependent on funding) 20 month contract position
     
       

      Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance  (CDPA)Background
      An Alliance of several national health charities and risk factor networks has formed to develop an action plan for a comprehensive, sufficiently resourced, sustainable, and integrated system of research, surveillance, policies, and programs that maintain health and prevent chronic disease.       PRIMARY DUTIES:

      C      Provides leadership and coordination to CDPA project goals & expected outcomes. 

      C      Manages operational details including budget, work plans and communications systems 

      C      Develops and maintains collaborative communication systems with health & recreation stakeholders at the federal, provincial, and community levels 

      C      Prepares and disseminates information/fiscal reports/communications to internal and outside stakeholders, partners, and funders

      C      Supervises other Secretariat staff and consultants as the need arises
     
       

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      C      Preference given to candidates with an appropriate university degree or equivalent experience in the area of health promotion or health care

      C      Ability to organise work, plan logical steps, balance priorities and meet deadlines

      C      Experience in working with volunteers

      C      Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

      C      Experience in working with government and managing grants an asset

      C      Preference may be given to candidates who have a good knowledge of both French and English

      C      Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, spreadsheet software (preferably Excel), PowerPoint, and the ability to use the internet as a resource

      C      Non-smoker
