Canadian Low-Income Cut-Offs, 2000 (LICOs)

 The LICOs are published by Statistics Canada. Families living below these

 levels are considered to be living in "straitened circumstances." The LICOs are

      These average poverty thresholds were derived by increasing
      the 2000 thresholds by a factor of 1.028455  which reflects
      the percent change in the average annual Consumer Price Index
      between 2000 and 2001.  These estimates may differ by a few
      dollars from the thresholds that will be published in the
      final report on the 2001 poverty population.
