The Alcohol Advisory Council of New Zealand has recently published a
manual for health promoters working in the area. this is available from
our website
http://www.alcohol.org.nz/resources/publications/Action_on_Alcohol/index
.html
This publication has been created in response to calls from people
working at a community level looking for ideas on where to start in
reducing alcohol related harm.

You can either download the whole publication, either as a PDF (1787k,
230 pages) or Zipped File (1548k, 230 pages), or download whole sections
or individual chapters
I would suggest Chapter 2, which includes some further reading.

In addition - useful reference books:
DOWNIE, R.S. ; TANNAHILL, Carol ; TANNAHILL, Andrew (1996) Health
promotion : models and values, Oxford : Oxford University Press

 NUTBEAM, Don ; HARRIS, Elizabeth, (1998) Theory in a nutshell : a
practitioner's guide to commonly used
theories and models in health promotion Sydney, NSW : National Centre
for Health Promotion, Department
of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of Sydney,

PERKINS, Elizabeth R. ; SIMNET, Ina ; WRIGHT, Linda (1999)
Evidence-based health promotion / edited by Elizabeth Perkins,

Subject: Health Promotion

Hello All

I am currently undertaking a literature review in the following areas of
Health Promotion and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or
guidance
on particular articles and/or authors that may be of help?

The areas I am working on are:

- Linking Health Promotion Theory to Programme Planning

- Community Mobilisation

- Models of Intersectoral Action

- Coalitions & Partnerships

Any help, views or opinions at all would be appreciated!!

Thank you

James Harrison
