McMaster University, School of Geography and Geology

An interdisciplinary team of researchers is seeking a post-doctoral
fellow with a PhD (at time of appointment) in one of the following
areas: health geography, anthropology, sociology, public health, health
studies, or a related discipline.  The successful candidate will work on
a national heart health promotion research project (the Canadian Heart
Health Dissemination Project) funded by CIHR.  The project work entails
primarily qualitative analytical work and is based at McMaster
University.  The research team consists of investigators from a variety
of fields at four Canadian Universities.

The team is looking for an individual with well-developed skills in
qualitative analysis, triangulation, and manuscript preparation.
Working with and reporting to the Principal Investigator (academic
supervisor) and the Project Director, the successful applicant will help
triangulate qualitative findings as well as write reports and related
publications.  In addition the successful applicant will be invited to
participate in a range of related research initiatives led by the
academic supervisor.

The position is for one year, with the potential for renewal, beginning
September 1, 2004.  The salary is $35, 000 plus benefits.  This stipend
may be supplemented with additional salary for teaching one or two
courses in the successful candidate’s area.
