I am pleased to share a new tool from Pathfinder International - Combination Prevention of HIV: A Technical Guide to Working with Key Affected Populations: http://www.pathfinder.org/publications-tools/combination-prevention-of-hiv.html?utm_source=tool&utm_medium=otherlists&utm_campaign=keypopguide. Collaboratively developed by a task force comprising technical advisors and program implementers in the field and at headquarters, the guide was informed by international literature as well as by Pathfinder's decades of experience working with key affected populations in Brazil, India, Kenya, and Mozambique.

This practical guide presents evidence and example activities that serve as a resource for program implementers and planners working to prevent HIV among female sex workers (FSWs), men who have sex with men (MSM), and people who inject drugs (PWID). It is critical to design integrated structural, biomedical, and behavioral approaches that are tailored to address the specific drivers of these key affected populations' risk, particularly given the powerful role that vulnerabilities at the societal, programmatic, and individual levels play in defining individual and community risk of infection. When applied with the necessary balance, intensity, quality, and coverage, these integrated approaches have the best chance for a sustainable impact. This resource offers guidance on a range of structural, biomedical, and behavioral interventions, including those that address advocacy, stigma and discrimination, HIV care and treatment, PEP, STI management and diagnosis, PMTCT, peer education, harm reduction, and many more.
