Hi Dennis,

I don't have first-hand experience with this topic, but I do know that in this province HealthMatch BC (a government funded health care recruitment service) guides internationally educated physicians through licensing requirements, immigration, and job search. More information can be found here: http://www.healthmatchbc.org/Physicians.aspx. I suspect their focus is more on filling GP and specialist vacancies. However, it may be worth chatting with them.

Subject: Foreign-trained doctors in Canada

Increasingly, I am encountering foreign-trained doctors who are trying to
figure out what opportunities they may have in fields such as health
promotion, health policy, and community health.

Canada makes it very difficult for many to practice here.

If any of you have any insights or ideas I would appreciate hearing them.

I think you can post to the list as I am sure there are many others with
the same questions.

Thanks,

dennis
