6th Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities

30th! Up until then, the registration cost is only $350!!

This year the program will begin the morning of August 18, but participants
will have the option to attend a special "pre-Institute day" on August 17th.


Keynote Speaker: Bill Ninacs, Coopérative la Clé, Victoriaville, Québec

Plenaries: Marie Burge (opening speaker), Cooper Institute, Charlottetown,
PEI; Caralee McDaniel, Dartmouth Family Resource Centre, Dartmouth, Nova
Scotia 

The Institute will offer three curriculum streams: Foundations, Application
(case studies), and Specialization. This curriculum builds on and bridges
common ground in health promotion, crime prevention and social development
and offers a certificate of participation.

Atlantic Canadian Showcase will feature promising practices, programs,
policies, experiences or lessons learned that relate to the theme of
community resiliency and connect it with health, safety or crime - the focus
of the Institute. 

"Building Resilient Communities into the 21st Century: A Collective Think
Tank"

The host for this year's Institute is the UPEI Centre for Life-Long
Learning.

As in years past, there will be simultaneous translation, informative

offert.

Le Vitrine du Canada atlantique offrira présentations qui mettent en avant
des pratiques, des politiques et des programmes prometteurs ainsi que des
expériences et leçons tirées qui sont reliées au thème de la résilience
communautaire, la santé, la sécurité et le crime - l'objectif de l'Institut.

« Bâtir des communautés résilientes au XXIe siècle : Une réflexion
collective » 

Cette année, l'hôte de l'Institut est le Centre de l'éducation permanente de
l'Université de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard. 

Comme par le passé, les participants pourront profiter d'un service de
traduction simultanée, d'imminents conférenciers et d'occasions de
réseautage.
