Children's Program
Attending the Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities this
year? Then please bring your children! It's free for them!
We are pleased to announce that we will once again be offering a Children's
Program at the 2010 Atlantic Summer Institute. The Children's Program will
parallel that of the adults in that they will learn what it takes to make a
community healthy, safe, and resilient.
The Institute believes in inclusion and reducing barriers to participation.
We want everyone to get involved with the Institute, so there will be a
free, educational and fun program offered to children of registered
participants (3-day registration).
The program is designed for children ages 3-14 and is staffed by early
childhood educators and / or qualified teachers. Instruction will be
available in both official languages.
Activities offered include the sharing of a story by local author Deirdre
Kessler, the chance to watch the famous annual Gold Cup and Saucer Parade,
and kite-making with PEI artist Maurice Bernard.
AND . . . for 2010 the Atlantic Summer Institute is pleased to announce a
partnership with the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, PEI!
This year the children will have a wonderful opportunity to learn about the
magic of theatre! Working with the talented Young Company actors and
actresses, the children will get to observe and participate in theatre
warm-up exercises, watch the Young Company perform outdoors at the
Confederation Centre, mix and mingle with the actors, and prepare a musical
selection for presentation on the last day of the Institute.

Programme pour les enfants
Participez-vous à l'Institut d'été sur les collectivités sûres et en santé
au Canada atlantique cette année? Si oui, n'oubliez pas que vous pouvez
venir avec vos enfants! Notre programme à l'intention des enfants est
gratuit!
Nous sommes heureux d'annoncer que nous offrirons à nouveau ce programme à
notre Institut 2010. Le programme, qui les amène à apprendre ce qui fait en
sorte qu'une communauté est en santé et en sécurité, est offert en même
temps que celui des adultes.
L'Institut croit en l'inclusion et en la réduction des obstacles à la
participation. C'est pourquoi nous voulons que tout le monde participe à
l'Institut et rendons accessible ce programme gratuit à la fois éducationnel
et amusant aux enfants des participants inscrits au programme complet de
l'Institut (3 jours).
Le programme à l'intention des enfants est conçu pour les enfants de 3 à 14
et dirigé par des éducateurs de la petite enfance et des professeurs bien
qualifiés. L'enseignement sera offert dans les deux langues officielles.
Les activités du programme cette année comprennent une histoire raconté par
l'auteur Deirdre Kessler, l'occasion de regarder la fameuse parade «Gold Cup
and Saucer» et l'occasion de fabriquer les cerf-volants avec Maurice
Bernard, un artiste de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard.
Et, pour 2010, l'Institut d'été est heureux d'annoncer son partenariat avec
le Centre des arts de la Confédération de l'Î.-P.-É.!
Cette année, les enfants auront une opportunité formidable d'en apprendre
plus sur la magie du théâtre. Ils auront l'occasion d'observer et de
participer aux exercices d'échauffement, de regarder la Jeune Compagnie
jouer une pièce de théâtre à l'extérieur de la Centre de la Confédération,
de mêler avec les acteurs.trices, et de préparer une sélection musicale à
présenter pendant leur « Moment de gloire » le dernier jour de l'Institut.
