I thought some members might be interested in these two upcoming web events,
the first of which is tomorrow (MAY 1) - a live Webcast on assisting
students in the recovery process. The second is a Web chat with Ellen
Morehouse, exec dir of Student Assistance Services on May 15. Just FYI!

1. LIVE WEBCAST: Student Assistance in the Recovery Process (Recovery Month
2002) on May 1, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. EST

Please join Ivette Torres, director of communications and external liaison
for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, as she hosts the "Student
Assistance in the Recovery Process: A Call to Action" Webcast on Wednesday,
May 1, 2002 at 3 p.m. EST. This live event will explore the critical role
of student assistance programs in making recovery possible for students
caught in the grip of alcohol and drug abuse. Featured on the panel will be
representatives from the Resident Student Assistance Program, Phoenix
Recovery High School, Center for Substance Abuse Research (CESAR) at the
University of Maryland, and Principal Robert Chlebicki of Blindbrook High
School, who will highlight the support for students living in families or
communities where addiction is a daily reality.
