Manager, Focus Community Resource Centre

Apply your expertise in this Kingston-based, full-time contract, ending
March 31, 2004
(with the possibility of an extension), within the Communications, Education
and Commu-nity
Health Division. The Centre provides technical support to 22 focus community
projects
throughout Ontario through training, consultation, networking, program
development and
information/dissemination related to substance-abuse prevention. You will
provide informa-tion,
presentations and promotional materials, organize annual provincial
meetings, manage
the annual budget, and provide financial and program reports to the Ministry
of Health and
Long-Term Care. To meet these demands, you must possess a relevant master’s
degree or
an equivalent background in social sciences, adult education or a related
field, as well as
5+ years of experience in program management, community development and
training,
including managing and co-ordinating large, complex projects. Knowledge of
prevention
and health promotion strategies related to alcohol and other drugs,
instructional design and
adult education is expected, as is proficiency in word-processing and
presentation software,
spreadsheets and networking. Fluency in French is considered an asset.
