It is a timely reminder of one of the three [known] health promotion related
summer schools taking place over the next three months. The earliest one
will be in Toronto, June 21-24 [see http://www.utoronto.ca/chp/hpss]. Then
there will be a break until late August, when there's the Atlantic Summer
Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities August 22-25, 2004 at the
University of Prince Edward Island.
Here's the information about the Manitoba Institute that will complete the
summer learning opportunities!

The 5th Annual Manitoba Summer Institute on Population Health Promotion
"Ready, Set, Go: Skills for Population Health Promotion" will be held
August 24th - 28th, Brandon University, Brandon, Manitoba.
What: A practical, skill building learning event for the promotion of
health and well-being where we live, work and learn
Why: To learn practical skills for population health promotion
Who Should Participate:
- Community leaders, staff and managers interested in advancing healthy
public policy and building community capacity
- First Nations, Tribal councils, Metis organizations and urban Aboriginal
organizations
- Primary and other health care practitioners
- Community development and community economic development staff
- Teachers, school administrators and parents
- Workers, union officials, managers and human resource professionals
- Staff representing different workplace contexts
- Community, non-governmental and public sector organizations
