I attended a press conference in North Bay today, where Minister David
Ramsay, on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation, officially
announced funding for the Active2010 strategy. I have copies of the media
releases, but have not seen them on the Government website as yet. Funding
was also announced for the Communities in Action fund ($5.2 million), as
well as an additional $1.5 million for Provincial Sport Organizations.

He also mentioned two new programs: "Pause to Play" targeting 10-14 year
olds to get them away from video and computer screens; and an adult walking
program targeting 45-65 year olds which is proposed for the spring.

Hopefully we'll see more today.
