JOB POSTING: Project coordinator - Labour Force Participation and Social
Inclusion for People with HIV and other Episodic Disabilities

Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation (CWGHR)

The Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation (CWGHR) is a national,
multi-sector organization, working to improve quality of life for people
living with HIV by undertaking research, education and partnership development
in rehabilitation in the context of HIV.

CWGHR is working with a network of episodic disability organizations to
undertake a 28-month project involving research and education on labour force
issues for people living with episodic disabilities in Canada. This project
will explore policy and programming options to promote greater labour force
participation and social inclusion for people living with episodic
disabilities.

CWGHR is looking for a Project Coordinator to work with a Project Advisory
Committee to develop, implement and evaluate this project.

Location: CWGHR's offices are located in Toronto and the Project Coordinator
will be located in Toronto. (Unfortunately, we do not have funds to cover
costs for moving to Toronto).

Time Line: Start date – Jan 17, 2005 or as soon as possible
Project to be completed March 31,2007

Primary qualifications include
? Relevant Masters degree or equivalent
? At least 5 years project management experience

PROJECT COORDINATOR – Responsibilities and Qualifications
Primary responsibilities of the Project Coordinator will be to:
• Work in consultation with Project Advisory Committee throughout the project
• Oversee development and implementation of the project, including
o Development and implementation of workplan
o Development of project reports
o Management of all financial aspects of the project, including cashflow
projections and financial reports
o Ensuring delivery of outputs
o Implementation of project evaluation plan
• Ensure communication between CWGHR members and committees and this project
• Hire and supervise staff involved in all aspects of the project (evaluators,
researchers, administrative assistant, translators, IT support, etc.)

Qualifications:
• Knowledge and understanding of HIV and other episodic conditions
• Familiarity with public and private disability insurance and labour force
issues
• Experience in project coordination, including management of work plans and
budgets
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of various research methods
• Experience and expertise in research design and project evaluation
• Experience and ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups e.g. people
living with HIV and other episodic disabilities, researchers, institutions,
community groups, private and public sector
• Experience hiring and supervising staff
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and
facilitation skills
• Computer literacy – including word processing, power point, data base
management, internet research
• Ability to work independently and in consultation with an Advisory Committee
• Familiarity with and/or experience working at the national level
• Fluency in written and spoken English (Bilingual in French / English a
strong asset)
• Education
- Minimum of relevant Masters degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years project management experience
Salary: Negotiable, commensurate with experience
