EuroHealthNet is looking for a Project Officer (full time) to work on European Commission co-funded projects in the area of Health Inequalities and Capacity Building for Health Promotion.

EuroHealthNet is an organisation composed of national and regional organisations with responsibility for public health and/or health promotion, representing most European countries.

EuroHealthNet aims to contribute to a healthier Europe with greater equity in health between and within European countries. To help achieve that we have a Brussels office that co-ordinates several EU projects and communicates between EU institutions and member agencies on relevant policy issues.

Tasks
Health Inequalities Project (2 days a week) 1. To lead the work on development of national strategies for action in the area of health inequalities for participating public health and health promotion institutes in 22 European countries 2. To compile and edit the reference booklet on health inequalities policies 3. To coordinate the preparation of 22 national seminars and to assist the organization of a major European conference on health inequalities policy implementation in Brussels in 2007. 4. To contribute to the project outputs (reports, website, marketing etc)

Capacity Building Project (2 days a week) 1. To coordinate the project in collaboration with the Latvian Health Promotion state Agency 2. To liaise with the project partners in the 10 new Member states and to ensure timely delivery of project outputs 3. To implement two capacity building training sessions in the field of (1) EU health (2) health promotion 4. To analyse questionnaires on capacity building needs within the field of health promotion in Central and Eastern Europe and to produce a report in 2007 5. To externally communicate the project results

General project and policy support (1 day a week) To support additional office operations, in particular in the field of healthy ageing and mental health.
