The Canadian Women's Health Network (www.cwhn.ca) is
offering free bulk copies (20, 50, 150, or more) of the
NEW booklet Hidden Health Care Work and Women for
distribution to your members and networks. (Please note:
This free offer is available only in Canada.)

Hidden Health Care Work and Women is an illustrated and
easy-to-read booklet, excellent for the general reader.
The booklet examines the issues facing the “hidden”
workers – most of whom are women - that enable our health
care system to function: the people doing the laundry,
fixing the meals, filing the test results, analyzing blood
samples, operating x-ray equipment, staffing the reception
desk and performing a multitude of other secondary or
ancillary health care jobs.

Hidden Health Care Work and Women addresses the questions:
What difference does it make if some health care workers
are labeled ‘ancillary workers’? What are the consequences
if some health care workers are relegated to a secondary
status, pushed to the margins or excluded by an act of
definition? Why is this a woman’s issue?
