In developing countries, 19 out of every 100 women give birth by the age of 18. World Population Day 2013 focuses on the consequences of adolescent pregnancy as young mothers face an increased risk of death and maternal complications. The USAID | DELIVER PROJECT has supported family planning programs in more than 60 countries by procuring contraceptives and working with country governments to strengthen the in-country supply chains that deliver them.
