Hello,
We are undergraduate and graduate criminology, legal studies, philosophy, psychology, and political science students from various campuses who are based at York University, and we have formed a student group called The LSAT Review, and we are working on a special project to make learning the LSAT straight-forward and accessible for students who are planning to pursue lawschool. We offer free introductory tutorials and materials, help with lawschool applications, a low-cost intensive 8-lesson crashcourse on the essentials of the LSAT, drill sessions, individual consultations, tutor referrals, and volunteer/work experience opportunities. As a collective, we meet weekly to discuss human rights cases, how to be objective, how to identify fallacies in everyday conversations and arguments, and most importantly, how to be one's own best advocate while working with community members who need support in knowing rights and responsibilities and navigating through the legal system.
Our LSAT crashcourse workshops run weekly. We show students the fundamental methodology of the LSAT, and how it relates to principles of Aristotelian formal logic, deduction, and higher order critical thinking. We share with students the problem-solving skills needed to recognize the underlying pattern that informs all of the questions and work through all of the sections of the
test: logical reasoning, reading comprehension, logic games, and the essay.
We know how challenging the LSAT can be, especially when the resources available on how to work through the test can be complex or are too expensive.
We welcome students getting involved in our projects and contributing to our LSAT student community.
