Developing a Model for Measuring the Efficiency of the Health System in Canada

The Canadian Institute for Health Information is pleased to announce the release of a new report entitled Developing a Model for Measuring the Efficiency of the Health System in Canada.  The report defines a model for measuring health system efficiency that was informed by consultations and deliberation with senior federal, provincial and territorial health system stakeholders conducted by the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis at McMaster University and by the McMaster Health Forum. The next step will be to use the model to analyze health system efficiency at the regional level in Canada. The results of this analysis will be showcased in a report scheduled for release in the fall of 2013.

Vers un modèle de mesure de l'efficacité du système de santé au Canada

L'Institut canadien d'information sur la santé (ICIS) est heureux d'annoncer la publication d'un nouveau rapport intitulé : Vers un modèle de mesure de l'efficacité du système de santé au Canada. Le rapport jette les bases d'un modèle de mesure de l'efficacité du système de santé dont l'élaboration s'est appuyée sur des consultations et des discussions avec de hauts dirigeants des gouvernements fédéral, provinciaux et territoriaux qui interviennent dans le système de santé. Ces consultations et discussions ont été dirigées par le Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis de l'Université McMaster et par le McMaster Health Forum. Il s'agira ensuite d'utiliser le modèle aux fins d'analyses de l'efficacité du système de santé canadien à l'échelle des régions. Les résultats de l'analyse seront présentés dans un rapport dont la publication est prévue à l'automne de 2013.
