Hello,

*Where: *Allan Waters Family Auditorium (Room 209) of the Li Ka Shing
Knowledge Institute located at 209 Victoria Street, Toronto ON, Canada M5B

Led by Dr. Abhijit Das from the Centre for Health and Social Justice in
India, this workshop focuses on evaluation’s role in improving lives, and
argues that we need to incorporate local realities in evaluating
performance. Drawing from his experiences on the ground, Dr. Das will
explore how *local context *can be incorporated into performance
measurement and how evaluation systems can make a difference to health
inequities.

The respondents are *Michael Clarke* (Director of Global Health Policy at
IDRC), *Sanjeev Sridharan* (Director of the Evaluation Centre for Complex
Health Interventions at St. Mike's), and *Ibrahim Daibes* (Senior Program
Specialist at IDRC).

*Key Questions of the Workshop:*

· How do we ensure results-based thinking can transform peoples’
lives?

· What are the roles of community and individual rights in defining
performance, development and progress?

· How do we move beyond globalized views of development and reframe
development from a local and community lens?

· How do evaluation systems incorporate local context in their
definitions of performance?

*Please see the attached flyer for more information.*

*RSVP as soon as possible as space is limited! *This workshop is especially
relevant to those working in global health and those who do work in the
policy and practice sectors.

*Enrolling in the Workshop: *Please reply to Jennica Nichols at *
