INVITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
DRIFTING SECOND-HAND SMOKE IN MULTI-UNIT DWELLINGS

Deadline: 4:00 pm Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

Purpose:
Canadians spend a large portion of their time indoors at home. Thus,
the greatest potential for exposure to environmental hazards, such as
second-hand smoke, is in the home. An emerging area of concern is the
problem of drifting second-hand smoke in multi-unit dwellings. The
Council for Tobacco-free Toronto (CTFT) developed a brochure related to
second-hand smoke in multi-dwelling units for both tenants and
landlords. CTFT is interested in supporting local efforts to develop
solutions to effectively address this problem.

The purpose of this invitation for Expressions of Interest is to engage
expert services to:
Identify tenant, landlord, condominium and property management
associations and organizations in Toronto, and
Research, develop and evaluate strategies to effectively distribute
information about the issue of drifting second-hand smoke to residents
and building representatives in order to initiate efforts in developing
effective solutions to the problem of drifting second-hand smoke in
multi-unit dwellings.

Funding Available:
Between January and March 2007 approximately $4,000 is available. All
activities, deliverables and expenditures must be completed before March
31, 2007.
