An exciting opportunity for a Registered Dietitian is available immediately
in the Palliser Health Region to work as part of a dynamic team in the
development and delivery of nutrition programs for at-risk pregnant women
and children. In addition to providing in-home nutrition assessment and
counseling, the Program Nutritionist participates in program planning and
development, provides consultation & training to other program staff and
facilitates food and nutrition related groups & programs such as: Food
Fundamentals, Community Kitchens, Baby Food Making, Prenatal drop-in, etc.
The hours for this position are flexible and may be able to accommodate
either full-time or part-time employment. Currently the position is a
contract that runs until approx. March 2006. The Best Babies Program has
been in operation since 1996 but must reapply for funding from Health Canada
(Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program / Community Action Program for Children)
on a three year cycle. Registered Dietitians with experience working with
at-risk families are preferred, a valid Driver's License and reliable
vehicle are a must. Health Connections offers a flexible benefits package
