Marie Burge: "Resilient Communities: The Art of Bouncing Back and Bouncing Forward"

What are the obstacles to creating healthy and vibrant communities? What are some "bounce back" strategies? What strengths do we find in communities to "bounce forward" in a dynamic movement for social justice, community peace, and creative living with one another and in harmony with the planet? 

These are some of the questions Marie Burge will ask (and maybe begin to answer) in this engaging plenary presentation at the Atlantic Summer Institute in August.

Marie Burge has been a staff person and a member of the Cooper Institute Collective for the past 25 years. She has thirty-eight years experience in community education and development and participatory action research both in developing countries and in Canada, mainly PEI. Quels sont les obstacles à créer des collectivités en santé et vibrantes? Quelles sont certaines stratégies pour « savoir se relever »? Quelles sont les forces retrouvées dans les collectivités pour qu'elles puissent « aller de l'avant » dans un mouvement dynamique pour la justice sociale, la paix collective, ainsi que pour une vie créative les uns avec les autres, tout en étant en harmonie avec la planète?

Voilà quelques-unes des questions que posera Marie Burge (et auxquelles elle commencera peut-être à répondre) dans son stimulant exposé en séance plénière, durant l'Institut d'été de l'Atlantique, au mois d'août. 

Marie Burge est employée et membre du collectif de l'Institut Cooper depuis 25 ans. Elle oeuvre depuis 38 ans en éducation et développement communautaire et en recherche participative tant dans les pays en développement qu'au Canada, principalement à l'Î.‑P.‑É.
