I'm writing to share a new technical publication from Pathfinder International: mHealth as a Tool for Integrated Systems Strengthening in Sexual and Reproductive Health Programming: http://www.pathfinder.org/publications-tools/mhealth-as-a-tool.html?utm_source=techpub&utm_medium=otherlists&utm_campaign=mhealthcrosscountry.
Over the past few years, mobile technology has been applied to a variety of health and development programs and many of the discussions surrounding the utility of mHealth have emphasized how mobile technology serves as a catalyst specifically for health systems strengthening. However, advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights necessitates work within communities. As more organizations move toward using mHealth within the community, their experience provides valuable insight for global learning. Pathfinder's experience applying mHealth across different countries yields several recommendations for using mHealth as a tool to support solutions to complex community and health system interventions.
This brief discusses project design, implementation experience, findings, and recommendations from Pathfinder's experience in Mozambique, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Haiti.
