Thanks very much Jenny, Dennis, and John for your suggestions and referrals.
John you mentioned:
>i am very interested
>in the intersection of health promotion and technology and would like you
>to keep me up on what you are thinking and what you find. are you set up
>to do something yourself? that might be a very interesting project - to
>see what kinds of things they would come up with.

A friend of mine is involved in the education aspect of this project and she
thought it would be important to have a health slant as well. It is due to
start in the next few weeks so I will let you know if I am involved how it
unfolds. I may want to know more about your work with urban youth. At the
moment I am passing information on to her and to the PHN in charge of the
Healthy Schools Project.

I think your point about the kids having input is an important one. My
thoughts at this point would be that it may be useful for kids to obtain
information about individual health concerns off the internet and to have
some assistance tapping into existing resources if they wanted to follow up
on it. What I thought may appeal about this is that motivation would come
from individual concerns, there would be ease of access to information, the
technology is interesting and they may want to help their friends become
knowledgeable. So in essence that it would be an approach that would be
individualized and have some personal meaning and facilitate personal
control. What do you think?
