Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of Photoshare, as service of The INFO Project based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs (CCP), I am delighted to present the winners of the 5th Annual International Photoshare Photo Contest. http://www.photoshare.org/contest/2007/07winners.php
Photoshare's Annual Photo Contest is a popular international event mobilizing photographers to share their work for charitable and educational use, in return for a chance to win a prize. By submitting their images, participants contribute to a growing collection of development-oriented photography, helping non-profits communicate health and development issues worldwide.
Open to amateurs and professionals alike, the contest drew interest from around the globe, including more than 347 participants who submitted more than 1,148 photos from 92 different countries. Entries were judged on the basis of content and quality by an independent panel of volunteer judges. Lydia Martin, Jeffrey Austin, and Matt Powell generously volunteered their time to serve on the international panel of judges.
Please join us in congratulating Sam De Leon of the Philippines who submitted the winning image; a striking black and white photo of a Filipino farmer set against a background of rice field.
Best Regards,
David Alexander, Photoshare
