The Forum *does* now allow image attachments, and so I hope the attached
image gets through.

According to MTP, the portrait was taken in 1889 by Edward R. Hewitt in
NYC, engraved by someone named Harley, possibly John Harley.

Marianne Bodine <[log in to unmask]> of the MT Birthplace State
Historic Site (Florida MO) wonders if anyone might know what the original
purpose for the engraving was, e.g. magazine article or frontispiece?

Thank you,
Taylor
