PROMOTING THE GROWTH OF CHILDREN: WHAT WORKS
This publication by Marcia Griffiths, Kate Dickin, and Michael Favin, has
recently been published by the World Bank as Tool #4 in its Nutrition
Toolkit series. The purpose of the Toolkit is to help World Bank staff

carry out comprehensive analysis of sectoral and policy issues affecting
food consumption and nutrition. This paper discusses growth promotion
activities as components of successful community nutrition projects with
emphasis on how to design and implement programs that maximize the
potential offered by the growth promotion package in nutrition and primary
health care programs.
