Program manager/Team leader for the Health Promotion Resource Centre of
Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse

The Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse (OPC) is Ontario's longest standing
prevention and health promotion organization, providing information,
education, consultation and networking services in French and English
province-wide.

OPC is seeking a bilingual manager for our Health Promotion Resource Centre,
an exciting new position. The successful applicant will work collaboratively
with team members to manage the activities of the Health Promotion Resource
Centre to ensure strategic decision-making, strong programming, and positive
outcomes. 

Responsibilities
*       Strategically plan, coordinate activities, and ensure deliverables
of the Resource Centre are met. 
*       Support, mentor and supervise staff, individually and as a team.
Recruit/hire new staff.   Direct students, volunteers and independent
contractors on projects.
*       Problem-solve and support the organization and staff to strive for
excellence. Analyse program contributions, strengths and shortcomings;
initiate improvements. 
*       Negotiate grants, work plans and contracts. Establish budgets and
manage spending. Prepare reports.
*       Provide leadership and/or project management to key initiatives,
emphasizing French language capacity. 
*       Collaborate with partners, funders, clients and other stakeholders.
Promote the Resource Centre and represent OPC.  

Qualifications 
*       Master's level degree in a related field and at least five years of
experience in health promotion or community/public health
programming/administration or equivalent mix of experience and education.
*       Fluency in both official languages. Knowledge of Ontario's diverse
communities, with particular attention to French-speaking communities.
*       Management/supervisory experience. Experience in project management,
meeting/workshop facilitation, program design, and educational resource
development. Strong team development and collaboration skills.  
*       Excellent verbal and written skills, in both official languages. 
*       Demonstrated strategic/analytic and judgment ability. 
*       Word processing, presentation software, e-mail, internet/intranet
usage, spreadsheets and databases.
