Did anyone respond to your request about 'The German Chicago'?

In case they didn't, here's what the index to Johnson's _Bibliography_ says:

'The German Chicago' (or 'A German Chicago,' depending on which part of the
index you're looking at), appeared in the _Illustrated London News_ on 24
September, 1 October, and 22 October 1892 under the title 'The Tramp Abroad
Again.'

The entry for the _Illustrated London News_ in the same index also says of
this piece, 'Appeared also in _N. Y. Sun_, q.v., with different titles.'
Here's where the fun begins! The index entry for the _N. Y. Sun_ lists just
4 items for 1892:
        Jan 8, 'Playing Courier'
        Jan 3 to Mar 27, 'The American Claimant'
        Feb 7, 'Marienbad: A Health Ffactory'
        Mar 13, Switzerland: The Cradle of Liberty.'
If 'The/A German Chicago,' aka 'The Tramp Abroad Again,' aka [who knows
what] is concealed under one of those titles, it's too many for me.

James D. Wilson in his 'Afterword' to the Oxford edition of _The One
Million Pound Bank-Note and Other New Stories_ asserts that '"The German
Chicago,' like 'Playing Courier,' was one of six travel articles Mark Twain
had prepared for the _New York Sun_ and the S. S. McClure Syndicate," but
he doesn't say just when it appeared, or under what title.

'The German Chicago' isn't listed in the index to Tenney's _Mark Twain: A
Reference Guide_. That index has 3 entries for the _New York Sun_, but none
of the pieces cited has anything to do with 'The German Chicago.'

I'm sorry I can't turn up more just now, but I really enjoy this kind of
search. If you can think of other places I should look here (there is no
card in our file for 'The German Chicago' and no folder in the Writings
1891 or 1892 files--those omissions surprise me), I'd be glad to do so. In
fact, I'll probably scout around a little more anyway. This thing is
getting under my skin!
