The Centre for Urban Health Initiatives is pleased to announce a call for
applications for their Junior Faculty Buyout Program.

Submission Deadline: April 28th, 2006

OVERVIEW
The Centre for Urban Health Initiatives (CUHI) is a Canadian urban health
research centre located at the University of Toronto. CUHI facilitates
research that examines how the social and physical conditions in cities
affect the health of the people who live there.  In close partnership with
the Wellesley Central Health Corporation, our mission is to work with policy
makers, community partners and academics to make great urban health research
happen – research that leads to social change and policy practice.  

Setting and guiding the research agenda at CUHI are three Research Interest
Groups (RIGs): Food and Health RIG, Physical Environments and Health RIG,
and Neighbourhoods and Health RIG. These groups are committed to carrying
out research in partnership with policy-makers and local communities.   

One way in which CUHI supports this research is through our Junior Faculty
Buyout program.  The goal of this program is to provide release time to a
junior faculty member so that they may be able to devote a greater
proportion of their time to furthering their research agenda and to making a
contribution to CUHI.
