Dear SDOH colleagues,

This just in from the Northwest Health Foundation in Portland, OR USA:

What do families need to be healthy?

Clean air?
Affordable housing?
Good schools?
Health insurance?

Social conditions play a major role in the health of our communities.
The Kaiser Permanente Community Fund at Northwest Health
Foundation announces the availability of grant funding for
organizations working to reduce health disparities and improve the
health status of vulnerable populations.

Letters of inquiry are due July 7, 2006. Proposals may address topics
as diverse as public safety, secure employment, environmental
quality, education, affordable housing, and community organizing, to
name a few.

To be eligible to apply, the service area of your project must fall within the
KPCF funding region: an area that roughly spans from Longview, Washington to
Salem, Oregon and portions of the Willamette Valley.

Interested? An online informational session for potential applicants
will take place on June 12, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. PST. RSVP by sending an email to
[log in to unmask] by 5:00 p.m. on June 9th. Please give your name, organizational
affiliation, phone number, and email address.

Visit www.nwhf.org for more information.
