Bill, you have assumed that I and others are/were but passive participants
in the system, like flotsam on a river. You have assumed that we didn't act
and try to mobilize for change. You have assumed that we paint all people
working in universities as our enemy and opposed to us. You have assumed
that dropping out cannot be a principled and reasoned position for some
people to take after years of fighting for change. You have assumed all this
while disregarding the fact that the power is in the hands of the
universities, not in the hands of students, TAs, contract workers, even
junior faculty. --Ocean
