METRO HALL
55 JOHN STREET
TORONTO, ONTARIO

**PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 20 TO 29 YEARS OLD**

REGISTRATION IS FREE
A LIGHT LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED ON SATURDAY

THE REGIONAL FORUM
The Toronto Regional Forum will involve presentations by guest speakers,
interactive theatre, and group discussions in order to share knowledge and
create personal and sustainable strategies that increase our ability as young
people to prevent and manage HIV/AIDS in local, national and global contexts.
We encourage registration from HIV positive and HIV-affected or at-risk youth,
youth working around HIV/AIDS issues and organizations, and youth who have
little or no knowledge or experience with HIV/AIDS. Knowledge shared at the
regional forums will inform a Canadian Youth Declaration on HIV/AIDS and a
nationally distributed Peer to Peer Resource Manual, as well as a National
Youth Survey on HIV/AIDS. In addition, we hope the regional forum will help
facilitate greater youth participation in the XVI International Conference on
AIDS, scheduled for August 2006 in Toronto.

September 30/05 (Friday from 6pm-9:30pm)
• HIV 101 Values and Assumptions workshop: This workshop will cover a basic
foundation in HIV info, it will look at issues facing HIV-positive youth
locally and globally, and challenge assumptions around HIV/AIDS.
• FILM: “A Closer Walk” : (2004 Documentary) “…a definitive portrayal of
humankind’s confrontation with the global AIDS epidemic… explores the intricate
relationship between health, dignity, and human rights, and shows how the harsh
realities of AIDS in the world are an expression of the way the world really
is…”

October 1/05 (Saturday from 10am-5:30pm)
• Mixed Company: Forum (interactive) Theatre Production
• “The Last Straw” Game: A fun way to learn about and discuss the Social
Determinants of Health.
