This should be interesting, and the timing couldn't be better. Within
the next three weeks we will be announcing completion of our
Determinants of Health Project, and the creation of a permanent database
of 150 indicators derived from 12 volunteer committees across the
province. We are very excited, and hopefully other people will be too.
Looking forward to some interesting discussions,

Wow, since 9 PM last night EST in Toronto, 83 people have joint with
very
healthy contingents of Aussie and UK members. The official kick-off
will
be January 26, so traffic may be low for a while.
In the meantime, gather your reports, references, and experiences
about
social determinants of health. The biomedical and behavioural
approaches
to health, health promotion, and population health are so well
entrenched
-- for various reasons that will be the subject of much discussion --
that
raising and acting upon these issues is an uphill and continuing
struggle.
