Dr. Anderson, congratulations and long life to your new journal, Social
Medicine!! I'm really heartened by this news.
There is just one concern, with respect to the wording in your announcement.
The news release states that "Social Medicine is an international,
open-access, peer-reviewed academic forum." Elsewhere, in point 4 of the
vision statement is stated: "To realize the goals of 'Health for All' we
must have a journal that includes the voices of all." (YES!)
It's not clear how a peer-reviewed academic forum can include the voices of
all. Is it the intention of the editorial board to accept articles from
persons and groups outside of academe?
Bye for now,
--Ocean
