COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The 4th International Conference on Urban Health is proud to announce
that we will be showcasing community-based participatory urban health
research through a special conference stream. This year's conference
theme is Achieving Social Justice in Urban Communities and we believe
that goal can only be achieved if community partners are in attendance.

We have also created a special registration fee for community partners
(that includes pre-conference workshops) and have made some additional
scholarships available for those traveling from a great distance. More
information on workshops, fees, and scholarships will be available soon.
Our goal is to ensure that at least 150 of the attendees this year
represent the communities that our research is focused on.

For ongoing updates and news regarding the Conference, and for more
information on how community members can become actively involved in the
conference by submitting proposals for workshops, panel discussions, and
research abstracts, please visit the Conference website at
www.crich.ca/isuhconference2005.

urban health and to discuss how to translate research into practice and
policy. The past conferences have had increasing international
attendance and representation from a wide variety of research
disciplines.
