Forwarding this announcement as it will be of interest to anyone in the Toronto area who is following the campaign for the special diet supplement for welfare and ODSP recipients. "Supplement" is a cinema-verité look at the operation of a hunger clinic.

Satan Macnuggit Popular Arts is proud to announce the release of the new DVD compilation RECAP: Video Images of the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty - debuting at the Cameron House on Thursday, November 3.

This two-hour set takes "video activism" to a new level. On a single disk it highlights a full decade of work by one of Canada's most renowned and contentious social justice groups, the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty. OCAP's work has ranged from 'addressing the legislature' on June 15, 2000, to raising McGuinty's welfare rates for thousands via their current Special Diet Supplement campaign.

In addition to its documentary value, RECAP showcases an unprecedented diversity of creativity and form in the cinematic presentation of its subject. Along with four very different pieces by curator Jonathan Culp - including two new works, Ghost Squat and Supplement - OCAP is:

- scratch-collaged in Roberto Ariganello's Shelter,
- split-screened in Kika Thorne's The Up and the Down,
- hyper-contextualized in Dan Roy's Barricade # 9,
- captured in words and action with two Toronto Video Activist Collective productions, Activists Overthrow Mike Harris! and Pope Squat.

RECAP touches down with a screening and celebration at the Cameron House on Thursday, November 3. In between video sets, catch the groovy DJ stylings of Miss Ruckus, Bernie Munich, and the Cameron's own DJ Satan Macnuggit. Doors at 9.

For interviews, review copies, or other information, please contact Jonathan Culp at 416-652-8946; or email [log in to unmask] On the web: www.satanmacnuggit.com; www.ocap.ca
