FYI
The curriculum to accompany the DVD "Treating the Whole" is now on 2
Spirit's web site at www.2spirits.com , click on What Health Care
Providers Can Learn - A History of 2-Spirited People.
The video focuses on the health care needs of Two Spirit people and the
challenges and barriers they face when seeking medical care in both
Aboriginal communities and through main stream health care providers.
The video includes a focus group discussion of Aboriginal service
providers and their personal experiences with the medical profession
and short video-taped interviews with an Aboriginal lesbian, a
bisexual, a transgendered individual and a Two Spirit man. The video
challenges discussion by audiences in terms of Aboriginal cultural
differences, racism and the need to Treat the Whole.
