Atlantic Networks for Prevention Research (www.anpr.dal.ca ) is a six-year
CIHR-funded project aimed at building research capacity in population and
public health, improving knowledge translation, and enhancing understanding of
health impacts of social and physical environments (communities, workplaces,
and schools).

Project Coordinator/Researcher required for 1 yr, full-time contract, starting
May, 2006, for CIHR-funded Project: "Scoping Review & Research Synthesis of
Community-level Interventions that Modify Social Environments & Influence
Health"


Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator/Researcher will work with a dynamic team of five
researchers and seven community collaborators on a scoping review of
community-level social interventions to improve health.  Responsibilities will
include coordinating the work of the entire team, conducting web-based
literature searches and  gray literature searches for community-level
interventions, working with the team to design criteria for inclusion of
interventions in the review, interpreting and synthesizing information on
interventions, writing interim and final reports, making PowerPoint
presentations, and developing and implementing a knowledge translation plan.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

·   Masters Degree and 2-5 years work experience required; Ph.D. Preferred;
    Post-doctoral students welcome
·   Excellent inter-personal skills and demonstrated skills in project
    coordination
·   Self-starter, able to work independently
·   Excellent writing skills for both research and lay audiences
·   Research background, preferably in both qualitative and quantitative
    research
·   Ability to interpret and synthesize complex data
·   Excellent computer skills and experience with web-based searches and
    reference management software
